After your days spent on game drives and under the African stars, a slower pace emerges, as you board your plane to the Indian Ocean. Ngorongoro Crater Tanzania Safari Experience

Day 1 – Touch Down

Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO); Airport Transfer to Original Massai Lodge.

Overnight: (Half Board – Dinner incl.)

Day 2 – Kilimanjaro National Park

Daytrip with packed-lunch to Mt. Kilimanjaro National Park – Hike the Shira Plateau.

Overnight: Original Massai Lodge (Full Board)

Day 3-4 – Tarangire National Park

You will continue to explore the park’s unique landscapes, from the majestic baobab trees to the winding Tarangire River, and encounter a variety of animals such as elephant, lion, zebra, and giraffe.

Overnight: Tented Lodge (Full Board)

Day 5 – Manyara Park

Departure with packed-lunch to Manyara National Park – game drive en-route.

Known for the tree climbing lions, the soda ash lake that attracts thousands of pink flamingos, and one of Tanzania’s biggest elephant population.

Overnight: Farm House (Full Board)

Day 6 – Ngorongoro’s Jewel

Visit the largest un-flooded and unbroken caldera in the world. A deep, volcanic crater 20kms across, 600 meters deep and 300 sq kms in area, the Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtaking natural wonder.

Return to your lodge.

Day 7-10 – Serengeti

Departure with packed-lunch to Serengeti NP – game drive en-route.

Spend 3 days exploring these famous plains with game drives at your pace.

Day 10 – Fly to Indian Ocean

Farewell to the Serengeti Savannahs. Your safari draws to an end, where your guide will transfer you to Seronera Airstrip.

Your flight to pristine beaches and turquoise waters will be waiting for you. Time to soak all in and reflect on your magical 10 day safari.

Day 10-15 – Paradise Island

Once touched down, your driver will meet you and take you to your lodge.

Spend the next five days relaxing, enjoying sprawling forest and beaches.

Tarangire National Park stands strong as the land of 1000s of elephants.
A quieter gem where ancient baobabs are dotted over sweeping savannahs and herds of elephants roam freely. It’s a place that still feels wild and untamed with fewer visitors. It’s an opportunity to explore this wilderness at a slower pace, in African time.

Ngorongoro Crater formed from a collapsed ancient volcano, creates a natural amphitheatre filled with wildlife. The Big 5 are often spotted here and Maasai herders guide their cattle along the rim of the crater, bringing domestic and wild animals in close proximity. It’s a perfectly balanced ecosystem which has a mysticism while being so fully alive. No wonder it is often dubbed by some as the 8th wonder of the world.

Serengeti, a sketched image in all minds of vast savannahs and golden lands. Seas of wildebeest set the stage for the Great Migration accompanied by zebra with the rains, joined in pursuit of their predators.
But away from the annual spectacle, you step foot into another land. A land with a beating heart where 4000 lions, 1000 leopard, 550 cheetahs and some 500 bird species also call home. One of the world’s greatest stages and well deserved heritage site, make a trip to the Serengeti, one to never forget.

What to pack

Check with your airline on limitations and quantities. It is important to note that luggage needs to be in soft bags opposed to suitcases as domestic flights will often have smaller compartments and spaces.
Pack light, though with all essentials. We can provide a thorough list of all to bring and please see a link to a site to help with your packing.

Do not exceed 20kg per person.

Passports and Visas

Do ensure you have a valid passport along with an onward airline ticket which is required for travel to Tanzania. A minimum of at least six (6) months from the date of departure is needed and signed and have at least two blank pages left in it after your visas for the trip have been secured (If your passport does not have a number of blank pages left in it, you should contact your nearest passport agency).

Money & ATM’s

CASH
Majority of the costs will be covered ahead of your safari and beach journey. Personal expenditure is best as cash and please note that due to card terminals or WIFI being down it is best to have cash also for anytime card payments are not working. US$30-50 per day is a reasonable minimum.
Please be aware that only post 2009 US Dollar bills are acceptable and bills should be in excellent condition with no stains or tears.

CREDIT CARDS
Credit cards are usually accepted by large hotels, camps, lodges, resorts and western-style restaurants but not by smaller vendors. Ensure you have adequate cash to cover purchases that can not be made on Credit/Visa cards.

ATMs
On safari and away from larger towns ATMs are not easily found. Do ensure you have adequate cash at all times split between party members.

Guides

You will be with expert guides who know each property and area you will be travelling with. They have been trained and extremely knowledgable of the bush and wild landscapes. You will also be part of a WhatsApp group with management and organisers to help, should anything arise or not be clear.

WIFI

WIFI can be found in all properties, though not always in bedrooms and often only located in the main living and social areas. However for those who wish to be connected further, we recommend having a local SIM card for 5G service for everywhere you go.
We can organise this for you and have ready on arrival. Tanzania is known to have one of the best networks and best value in all of Africa.

Catering

All catering is included for your trip and within the lodges, camps or hotels you choose to stay at.
On game drives picnics including hot items will be provided by your guides and accommodation which will be had at a time to suit you.

Medical & Vaccinations

Do seek medical advice and allow a few weeks before you travel. Medical professionals will be able to guide you on the vaccinations and medications required.

Prescriptive medicines should always be carried in your hand luggage and although there are hospitals and pharmacies in towns, basic medications should be carried such as;

– Paracetamol
– Calpol if travelling with children
– Dioralyte
– Inhalers if asthmatic
– Anti-diarrhea medicine (loperamide) such as Imodium
– Antihistamine cream
– Plasters

Dress Code

As the trip is across multiple locations, clothing will need to vary from one to the other. Cover well on safari to avoid being bitten and pack warm for early morning game drives. Temperatures can be cool and you will be at different heights on different days. Please refer to our extensive packing list.
Although relaxed throughout, it is customary for women to cover their shoulders and legs when visiting local markets and towns, especially on the islands.
